The battle news in Arakan during the days of 29 and 30 July 2020
30 July 2020

The Burmese war criminal invading force (Myanmar Army) intensively launched its offensive assaults against the Arakan Army at the end of the month of July. They have been escalating their military operations not only in the environs of the Kyauk-Tan village tract but also in Buthidaung, Paletwa, Mrauk-U, Minbya, and Ann Townships.

At the same time, the more the Myanmar Army launches the offensive, the more they suffer casualties. Due to the fact that the Myanmar Army suffered heavy casualties, they came and attacked by two helicopter gunships on July 30.

On the days of 29 and 30 July 2020, the outposts of the Myanmar Army based in Paletwa Township have been blindly firing the heavy artilleries along the border, including the areas supposed to be occupied by our troops. There were more than 100 artillery attacks on July 29 alone.

The clash broke out for more than half hour at Pitaung Mountain (Khan-Kha Mountain - Point 957) (in other words) at the distance of 3.7 kilometers away from the south-east of the Border Post (BP-71) in Paletwa Township on 29 July. There were also spasmodic clashes in the environs of Pitaung Mountain on July 30. More than 10 troops were killed on the enemy side.

In addition, the fighting occurred for several minutes near the 9th Regional Training Center in Minbya Township.

Starting from 5:55 am on 30 July 2020, the Myanmar Army launched the offensive assaults, with en masse, against our troops at the distance of 1.4 and 2 kilometers away from the north-east of Hta-Ma-Rite village in Mrauk-U Township. They came and bombarded by two helicopter gunships for about 20 minutes at 2:30 pm.

Although we have been refraining from fighting not to break out, such clashes were intensively accelerated because the Myanmar Army has been deliberately launching the massive offensive attacks everywhere in Arakan before the general elections.

The Arakan Army has issued a statement along with our Brotherhood Alliance on the general elections.
