Battle news and situations in Arakan on 1, 2, and 3 August 2020

On 1 August 2020, although there were no massive ground clashes, Myanmar Army fired heavy weapons almost the whole day without any fighting in Paletwa Township.

In addition, the Myanmar Army entered into the villages where there were no villagers who have been fleeing in fear of war crimes and killings committed by the Myanmar Army due to the fighting, and they have been looting the villagers' belonging properties and devastating non-recoverable items.

The Myanmar Army planted land-mines nearby the environs of villages, normal sidewalks, and above the access road to agriculture site, endangering the lives of innocent civilians after leaving the villages where they destroyed. The number of innocent civilian casualties has risen up due to the land-mines dumped by the Myanmar Army during this week.

The clash broke out at the distance of 4 kilometers away from the south-east of the Arakan-Bangladesh Border Post (BP-71) (in other words) at the distance of 1.7 kilometers away from the south-west of the Khan-Kha Mountain in Pletwa Township at 11:30 am on 2 August 2020. Similarly, the clashes continuously occurred in the area of 1.3 kilometers away from the north-west of Khan-Kha Mountain at about 4 pm on the same day.

The 376th Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) under the command of the 9th Military Operations Command (MOC) of war criminal force Myanmar Army fired heavy weapons into Kyauk-Ta-Lone village in Kyauktaw Township with racial hatred without any fighting in that area at 8:45 am on 3 August 2020. Therefore, 4 innocent villagers from Kyauk-Ta-Lone village seriously got injured.

At about 12 noon on 3 August 2020, the clashes broke out between the Arakan Army and joint forces of the Myanmar Army and the Myanmar Police Force (Border Guard Police) which jointly have been conducting "Clearance Operations" at the distance of 3 km away from the west of Upper Nan Yar (ruined village) in Rathedaung Township.
